Advancing website storytelling with Antonis’ addition to Orgcaos team
As a digital designer, Antonis brings the necessary skills and values to enhance purposeful design at Orgcaos.
Quick summary: Antonis is a Cypriot web designer with over four years of experience in corporate environments, focusing on unique projects with a sense of social and environmental purpose. Orgcaos was seeking someone who not only understands web and digital technologies but mainly carries the same values and culture. Antonis is also a very active person, balancing seated office time with high-adrenaline activities.
Orgcaos purpose-driven design studio has recently joined forces with Antonis, who is leading web and digital projects. Antonis is a Cypriot Web & UI/UX designer with an Honors degree in Multimedia Design. Throughout his career, Antonis has designed digital projects for a variety of clients, from small local businesses to firms with an international presence. He is passionate about connecting user friendly and up-to-date web design with storytelling and experimentation.
“Following design trends can sometimes be tricky. Trends often lead designers to create overstimulating websites, with too many unnecessary elements, that confuse users, and distract them from their initial goals. I believe there are many boring websites out there, that could tell an engaging, visually appealing story while still being easy to navigate.”
Design for impact is the new direction
In the era of AI and automations, designing for impact, can feel like trying to hold back the ocean with a bucket. As automation becomes more prevalent, web and UI design are, of course, also affected. Companies respond to these changes, by adopting quicker processes, accelerated workflows, and increased production demands. To keep up, designers are forced to adapt, often at the cost of their passion and creativity.
Antonis, has worked for more than four years in the corporate environment, collaborating with international clients on highly distinctive projects. What the majority of the projects were lacking, was the sense of purpose. Corporate design is often uninspiring, leaving behind minorities, vulnerable groups and do not care about the impact on the planet, while mental health is less important than profit.
Orgcaos sought a digital designer who not only has a deep understanding of web design and user-friendly interfaces, but at the same time, possesses social and environmental awareness and the passion to tell the stories of companies and organisations that have a purpose.
Exciting project coming up, combining website storytelling with social awareness
Recently, Antonis has been working on a new research website, about the Saharan Dust problem in Cyprus and its impact on the residents. The website is set to be released soon and aims to inform people about the Saharan Dust threat, help them understand the scale of the problem, and suggest ways to protect themselves and other vulnerable individuals. “The Saharan Dust in Cyprus” website, is one of Antonis’ first side projects at Orgcaos, giving us a glimpse of the future in Orgcaos!
An active person and a natural explorer
Antonis is not only a tech enthusiast, but also a nature lover and a born explorer. He is excited by everything, from new adventures to long walks on unfamiliar paths and mountainous trails. You can also find him immersing himself in art galleries, museums and cultural events, as he is always intrigued by learning new information about art, history and sustainability.
You’ll rarely find Antonis sitting still during his free time. On the contrary, you may find him cycling, roller-skating, hiking or exercising.
“I like to be on the move. When I have free time, I like to clear my mind and connect with nature. I spend hours seated every day and it’s important for me to stay active during my off-hours and use nature as a form of inspiration and motivation.”
